Westgate Park, Fishermans Bend

Distance from City: 6KM

A quick ride from the the Melbourne CBD, the trails at Westgate park are very accessible, even with half day bike rental. They are however quite flat and rated easy, more suited to families and beginner mountain bikers. There are single tracks and gravel roads, around 7km in total trail length.

Westerfolds Park, Templestowe

Distance from City: 25KM

Accessable via the Yarra Trail around 25km from the city center, here at Candlebark Park you will find Hans Loop, a 4.3km singletrack, rated blue. There are a few small hills and climbs and it's really one of the best trails you will find this close to Melbourne.

Lysterfield Park, Lysterfield

Distance from City: 40km

Used for the 2006 Commonwealth Games, Lysterfield Park is where you will find quality trails for all abilities. There are 20km of trails including the 6.3km State Mountain Bike Course. The trails are all graded and clearly sign posted with directional information. If you want to make a day of it and have a car to take you there, this is one of your best options.

You Yangs Regional Park

Distance from City: 64KM

With 50km of purpose-built tracks, the You Yangs is a true MTB playground. All levels are catered to here, from wide dirt roads for beginners to technical singletrack and extreme downhill sections. If you don't have a car, it's possible to take the train from Southern Cross to Little River station and then bike the rest of the way (approx 10km to MTB office car park).
